Real Neat Blog Award Nominations

A very special thanks to ciarralorren who nominated me for the “Real Neat Blog Award”! This is really exciting for me and my first nomination since recently starting thsi blog. I feel so welcomed into this lovely community! Please make sure you do check out Ciarra’s page! Thank you! X

The Rules:

  1. Put the award logo on your blog.
  2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
  4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.

Let them know you nominated them

1)What’s your favourite thing about blogging? My favourite thing about blogging has to be the moment when you start writing and you just get into the flow, that moment when you don’t have to think about what you are writing, it just comes naturally to you because of your passion.

2)If you could be anything in the world, what would it be? I would be a famous dancer as I love performing and it would be an absolute dream to perform night after night to thousands of people and share my love of the most passionate art form.

3)Do you prefer snow or sunshine? Definitely snow, I am a completely cosy winter girl who loves to put on my sparkly gold wellies and a bobble hat and run out into the snow. The occasions of actually getting a decent amount of snow are few are far between though, unfortunately.

4)How would your best friend describe you in three words? I asked my best friend and she replied “stunning, caring and determined”. I love her so much haha!

5) What’s your favourite city in the world? London of course! The endless theatres in the West End, the famous landmarks, hundreds of tourist attractions and street performers and a very friendly and busy atmosphere!

6)What’s one item of clothing you simply could not go on without? Aside from my dance-wear it would have be my leggings, although fluffy socks are a big contender!

7) If you could star in any TV show, what show would it be? I have to admit I am a huge Dance Moms fan so that would definitely be my dream show to star in. I do have a bit of a claim to fame here because I have actually met Abby Lee Miller, she is no different to how she is on TV for any of you who were wondering. 🙂

It’s Your Turn!

I would love to nominate: GiannaTheMermaid , IndiArdenStillingOutN’About and BradleyEvette  it’s your turn to answer some questions! Enjoy!

  1. Why did you start your blog originally?
  2. Do you have a favourite thing to bake, if so what is it?
  3. Which shop would be your ‘go-to’ if you needed a party dress?
  4. If you could only own three makeup products which would they be?
  5. Where was your best holiday abroad?
  6. On your birthday, what would be your dream way to celebrate?
  7. What is your favourite milkshake? It could be plain and simple, a chocolate bar flavour, or even describe to me your dream freakshake!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everybody!

I don’t know about you, but for me 2017 is looking super exciting! I have lots of amazing events coming up and also I will be making my final designs for a costume before I begin to actually make the product!

For me 2017 is going to be a year of self-improvement and I have started that by getting the Happiness Planner which I am exhilarated to start using on a daily  basis. Once I have got into the swing of using it then hopefully I will upload a video to my YouTube channel so I can share with you all, just how useful it is. So far I have completed reflections on 2016 and set goals for 2017, including New Year’s resolutions and a habit to change in 30 days, which comes with a tracker sheet so I feel I will be able to achieve that.

I mentioned earlier my YouTube channel. This is definitely going to be my biggest change for the better. Since a very young age I have been making videos, these have ranged from  comedy sketches to dancing and singing, even making my own music videos, but for about 2 1/2 years now I have desperately wanted to take it further by making proper videos that I would actually upload. In the last year I have made video after video and spent hours editing them but always have been too worried about receiving horrid comments from my peers if I ever was to actually upload them. The result of this is a folder on my laptop filled with videos that I am very proud of and have taken me a long time but I am unable to get any recognition for these, as I have always been too scared to upload them for everyone to see.

Many, many people have inspired me to do this, all the way from Zoella and Tanya Burr, right down to friends of mine that own a small channel…so I have decided it is time to take action! If my parents allow me, then 2017 will be the launch of my YouTube channel. Don’t worry though! I will still be active on here! In fact, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to upload on my website and Instagram much more regularly as through starting this social media ‘family’ I have been so happy with what I have seen: people just as passionate as I am about photography and mindfulness, people who will like and comment and just be very friendly with you, even when they are on the opposite side of the world, and so far i have seen very little hate and this makes me so happy and shows off how wonderful human beings are.

Even so little as 5 years back from now I would never have imagined myself having the confidence to do this and publish anything online for everyone to see, whether it be an Instagram picture, a blog post or a YouTube video. But I have learnt that the internet is not such a scary place and if I continue to use it safely I can actually acknowledge how lovely and passionate people are and open my eyes to the stunning photography, video footage and written content people can create. I am so happy I have started this journey and I hope you will continue to follow me along the crazy ride I have in store for myself.

My Instagram link is on my main page by I will link it again here: https://instagram.com/superstar.photos/ or just type in superstar.photos on the app.

Once I create my YouTube I will post a link for that too.

So I guess it’s goodbye from me and I wish you all the best for the New Year but thank you so much for the love and support I have already received, it is such a lovely community here that I am proud to have joined!

Keep smiling, Katie X

The World At Rest

One of my favourite pictures from this year!

“The Most Wonderful time Of The Year!”

Hi Everyone, and Merry Christmas!

It’s that time of year once again where once quiet villages are filled with the hustle and bustle of shoppers who come from far and wide, the streets are filled with twinkling lights and stalls selling sweet mince pies and warming mulled wine, children peer into windows of every store pointing at the presents they want and their parents reply “you’ll have to wait and see…”, whilst making a mental note to come back later alone and buy the exact gift their treasured child wishes for. Everyone is feeling happy, friendly and charitable; it truly is ‘the most wonderful time of the year’!

As you can see from the images my Christmas tree is up and after a lot of chaos I also got the fairy lights on it, though I am yet to decorate. (P.S. In case you wondered, I got very tangled up in the endless string of fairy lights-oops!).

I don’t know if it is just me, although I am sure you will agree, having a tree up and some little shining lights makes all the difference to your mood. They make me feel 100 times cosier  and put smile across my face that beams as bright as the lights themselves!

Hope you all are well and have a lovely Christmas,

Keep smiling, Katie X
